mac-voip-chat.com – Mac-Gizmo tests out iPevo’s SO-20 Wireless Skype phone. A roaming Wi-Fi cordless VOIP hand set that’s letting me make and take calls in the cabin and out in the yard. With a special version of Skype built into the OS – my existing Skype contact list (already from my Apple Mac setup) is available once I connect to my router and log in. With low-cost pay-per-minute or flat-rate monthly calling plans, I can enjoy long distance at a fraction of my local telco rates. After puzzling through the all too brief Quick-Start guide, I eventually figured out how to connect to my Wi-Fi router, enter my Skype ID and password. Documentation is a little skimpy. But once set up – it’s pretty much set it and forget it simple to call direct or choose from my Skype contact list. That easy. PS I forgot to mention the Ipevo phone also has a standard headset jack on the side – and that NO software installation is needed – it’s all built into the phone.
